Spain is seperated into 11 reigons like Australia with the 6 states.. however Catalyna is the only one with its own autonomous government seperate from spain because they claim they are independent of Spain having their own identity, culture and language.. its really interesting most of the city has signs, menus, and tv progams with both the catalan and spanish language.
Yesterday we came across a street party that was promoting and celebrating liberty of Catalan.
The party involved people playing music, spray painting artistic representations on the street wall, drinking and of course a massive feast!!! |
